Go Outside – Even Just for 5 Minutes

Aug 14, 2025

Inspiration doesn't always arrive like a lightning bolt.

Sometimes, it tiptoes in quietly… when you step out the door.

I remember one grey day, standing just outside my studio, arms crossed, completely uninspired. I had paints. I had time. But the spark? Gone.

And then I saw it — the soft lines of raindrops sliding down the window. Tiny patterns, forming and disappearing. Something shifted. I was no longer in my head. I was present. Watching. Seeing.

That moment didn’t turn into a finished painting. But it opened the door again — back to curiosity, back to color, back to flow.

Try this next time you feel stuck:

  • Step outside (even if it’s just to the front step)
  • Look for one thing with texture, light, or movement
  • Take a photo, or come back and do a quick, loose sketch

That little shift in your surroundings can be a big shift in your mind.

Imagine this… but in Spain 🌿

Now imagine doing this not on a grey Tuesday — but in the sunshine.
Not with a jacket zipped up to your chin — but in light clothes, the scent of citrus and lavender in the air.
Not outside your front door — but in a beautiful garden surrounded by palm trees, soft hills, and birdsong.

In just 6 weeks, you can join me and a small, warm group of fellow creatives for an unforgettable painting retreat in Spain.
We’ll paint outside every day. We’ll share meals, stories, sunsets — and those quiet, powerful moments where inspiration returns when you least expect it.

This is not a retreat for perfection or pressure.
It’s for breathing deeper.
Painting freer.
And finding that spark again — together.

If your heart is whispering yes, come with us.

You don’t need to be “good enough.” You just need to be willing to step outside.
